Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII are by far the two most popular PSOne Classic games on the Playstation Network for the Playstation 3 and PSP. Thus, the topic of converting Final Fantasy IX as a digital download naturally came up.
Last week, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto told fans that he will bring up the subject of Final Fantasy IX appearing the on Playstation Network during the next company board meeting. In his recent tweets to Square Enix Members, he revealed that the gathering went well. Hashimoto stated that, because it is the 10th anniversary of the game, many board members approved of his idea. He later mentioned that the official word should come by next Friday at the latest.
Final Fantasy IX was originally released on the Playstation in 2000. Both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII were re-released as digital downloads on the Playstation Store last year.
