Final card for Bellator 118

After a week away, Bellator MMA returns to action this Friday May 2nd. In the main event Joe Warren meets fellow bantamweight Rafael Silva for the interim championship. Since losing the featherweight championship to Pat Curran back in 2012, Warren has been on a three fight win streak, most recently beating Travis Marx. Silva won’t be a pushover, however. The Brazilian carries a professional record of 21-3 into the cage and last lost in February of 2011.

Current bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas is forced to sit this one out with a head injury. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney offered this statement:

"We take head injuries very seriously, and when we were notified that Eduardo was dealing with a head injury, we immediately flew him from Brazil to California to be examined by some of the leading specialists in the field. We are hopeful Eduardo will be able to resume his career later this year, but in the interim we have two incredible tournament winners ready to challenge for the Bellator world title."
