Another long baseball season has finally come to a close, and we are set for the postseason. It's been an interesting year around the National League, so let's take our final look at the 2013 NL regular season standings.

NL EAST

  1. Atlanta (96-66, .593, 0 GB)
  2. Washington (86-76, .531, 5 GB)
  3. New York (74-88, .457, 7 GB)
  4. Philadelphia (73-89, .451, 8 GB)
  5. Miami (62-100, .383, 19 GB)

Realistically, this division was wrapped up well over a month ago as the Atlanta Braves just shredded the National League this year. But a huge surprise came out of Citi Field, as the New York Mets were within striking distance during the final stretch. They could be a team to watch next year.

NL CENTRAL

  1. St. Louis (97-65, .599, 0 GB)
  2. Pittsburgh - WC (94-68, .580, 13 GB)
  3. Cincinnati - WC (90-72, .556, 9 GB)
  4. Milwaukee (74-88, .457, 7 GB)
  5. Chicago (66-96, .407, 15 GB)

This was arguably the hottest division in the land for most of the season, as the Cardinals battled with the Reds and Pirates pretty much all year along. All three teams ended up with a playoff spot, while the Cubs will try to reset after firing manger Dale Sveum on Monday.

NL WEST

  1. Los Angeles (92-70, .568, 0 GB)
  2. Arizona (81-81, .500, - GB)
  3. San Diego (76-86, .469, 5 GB)
  4. San Francisco (76-86, .469, 5 GB)
  5. Colorado (74-88, .457, 7 GB)

This was a roller coaster ride of a division all year long. The Dodgers were in trouble early, and were even in talks of firing manager Don Mattingly before the All-Star Break. But they bounced back and tore through the rest of the schedule, earning a division title. San Francisco is the clear disappointment, having almost completely fallen apart after winning the World Series last year.

The National League was a fun league to watch all year long. Now as the playoffs are about to start, we'll get a good look at how bad these teams want that title of World Series Champion.
