Filter (w/MENEW) To Play Halloween Show at The Rialto Theatre - Tucson, AZ - 10/31/2011
Original Filter frontman Richard Patrick remains the ever-present driving force behind the project, which has undergone numerous regroupings over the years. After five studio albums and myriad other releases since 1995, including hit songs for movie soundtracks, Patrick has proven his ability to find good talent and keep his band's name relevant.
Much of the music offered on Filter's most recent release, The Trouble With Angels, is a sincere throwback to the grungier, dirtier riffs from the 90s, with lyrics that add up to more than you can really hope to get these days. Besides the straight-up rock tracks, Patrick and company deliver slower, smoother records, which fare equally well if that's what you're into. And yeah, we're into it.
Currently on tour, Filter will stop in Tucson on 10/31/11 to play the historic Rialto with supporting act MENEW. The all-ages show starts at 8pm with Filter taking the stage later in the evening, and tickets are in the mid-$20s. American Android and Stareater will also perform to help open the show. (Doors at 7pm.) Click here for the Rialto Theatre website.

According to their bio, MENEW, pronounced MENU, have a "boundless approach [that] can't be categorized, and the music comes to life on stage as a result. They've shared the stage with U2 and played to fervent crowds at Rock on the Range, The Frank Zappa Manifesto, on tour with Filter, and countless other shows across North America."
