Olympian Victoria Manalo Draves was the first woman in history to win two gold medals in diving (3m and 10m) at the 1948 London Olympic games.
Born to an English mother and Filipino father in San Francisco, California, she faced racial prejudice during a time of segregation to be able to achieve her goal as a diver.
Filmmaker Georgina Tolentino plans to portray Victoria Manalo Draves in an upcoming feature film based on the Olympic diver's life story.
Tolentino recently launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise financial support for the project.
The filmmakers hope to raise $18,000 to help cover the costs of writing and developing the film's screenplay.
