In another typical Michael Moore tirade, filmmaker Moore says he supports the troops more than Americans who say they support the troops.
In the Huffington Post today, Moore’s caustic words were that he is “tired of the ruse we are playing on these brave citizens in our armed forces."
"And guess what," he continues, "a lot of these soldiers and sailors and airmen and Marines see right through the bullshit of those words, ‘I support the troops!,’ spoken by Americans with such false sincerity.”
Moore admitted that he, like all other Americans (a big stretch) does not support the troops because he does little to demonstrate it.
Simply put, actions speak louder than words!
In a series of rhetorical questions and charges designed to elicit the ire of patriotic Americans Moore asked, what has he done “to bring the troops home?”
Or to stop banks from foreclosing on soldiers homes and evicting “their families while they are overseas!”
Moore continues the rant with how many “who say you ‘support the troops,’ have visited a VA hospital to bring aid and comfort to the sick and wounded?”
“Help a homeless vet today?” continues Moore. “How 'bout yesterday? Last week? Last year? Ever?”
With each question he admits that he is too busy to do any of these things raising questions about our own sincerity.
The 58 year old outspoken liberal say he doesn’t “support the troops “ the way Republicans or “frightened Democrats" claim to with their "hypocritical platitudes," but he does support them “ coming home… being treated well.”
He says he supports “peace”, and begs “any young person reading this who's thinking of joining the armed forces to please reconsider.”
Michael Moore has once again hit a nerve with the American people.
He asks legitimate questions that we should have been asking all along.
