Starting tonight until next Thursday, July 29th, Dallas movie and film enthusiasts will have the opportunity once again to watch films from up and coming Asian-American filmmakers and share the rich diversity of Asian culture at the 9th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas.
Be part of the South’s largest showcase of Asian and Asian American cinema. Approximately 300 Asian and Asian American filmmakers and documentarians have shared their vision with some films exclusively shown only in Dallas.
All films will be shown at Landmark’s Magnolia Theatre in the West Village.

The best way to purchase tickets is online by going to each individual film, clicking on the link and selecting “buy tickets”. Ticket prices for regular screenings have been discounted to add convenience without the extra charge. Please visit the Film and Schedule pages to purchase individual tickets for each screening.
**Online ticket sales will cut off 2 hours prior to the screening time, so please purchase your tickets early.
Tickets for all screenings at Landmark’s Magnolia Theatre may be purchased beginning July 23 at the Magnolia Box Office.
Tickets for screenings at the Angelika Film Center may be purchased from the AFFD table at the Magnolia beginning July 23, or from the AFFD table at the Angelika, beginning July 26.
Tickets for screenings at the Angelika will be cash or check only, please.

There will be two venues that will be showcasing films. The majority of films will take place at Landmark’s Magnolia Theater. The other location is the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station. For information on venues!

AFFD Opening Night Happy Hour/Reception at Social House in West Village. 6-7pm. Free to the public.
Saturday, July 24
AFFD Midnight Karaoke at the Magnolia Theater Bar hosted by RedCarpetCrash.com. Midnight. Free to the public.
Sunday, July 25
Reception at 7pm featuring appetizers from The Sushi Bar for VIP passholders before Centerpiece screening of IP MAN 2 at the Magnolia Theatre at 7:30pm.
Monday, July 26
MAO’S LAST DANCER screening at the Magnolia Theatre, with special guests Charles Foster (Houston immigration lawyer played by Kyle Machlachlan in the film) and Ben Stevenson (world renowned dance instructor played by Bruce Greenwood) in attendance to discuss their real-life experience as portrayed in the film. 6:30pm. Tuesday, July 27
2010 AFFD Juried Award Winners announced at The Fish in West Village. Initial presentations of the Panasonic Avionics Award for Excellence in Asian Film. 5-7pm. Free to the public.
Wednesday, July 28
9500 LIBERTY screening at the Angelika Dallas, with director Eric Byler and community leaders in attendance to discuss the making of the film, and the impact of the immigration debate in the Dallas community. 7:30pm. This film touches upon the hot button issue of immigration laws similar to the one pass in Arizona. This film by Asian-American filmmakers Eric Byler and Annabel Park is set in Prince William County, Virginia where lawmakers establish a law that requires police to question anyone they suspect might have cause to be an undocumented immigrant.
Thursday, July 29
THE PEOPLE I’VE SLEPT WITH Closing Night screening at the Magnolia Theatre, with director Quentin Lee in attendance, followed by the Closing Night Party at Deux Nightclub at Mockingbird Station. Film at 7:30pm. Party at 10pm, Free to VIPs and ticketholders, cover charge for public. Link:
