On Dec. 12, 2013, the director of photography (DP) for the film "Casting" announced that even though the film shoot dates have been changed, he continues to scout locations to shoot it.
The DP is Ernesto Lasso de la Vega, and he will be heading to Naples, Fla. on Dec. 14 to find the perfect location for shooting the documentary and comedy film.
The United Film & Television Artists (UFTA) is producing the film, and they have agreed with the new schedule. They will wait to hear from Ernesto about the locations decided upon as well.
"This film has been in the works actively all year, but we have been planning it for a few years!" - UFTA President Al Quinn
This will be a good time of year to shoot a film, for even though the majority of the film will be shot inside, there will still need to be a variety of outside shots made. The main purpose for this is in order to make the film's "lesson" work.
According to Al Quinn this film, a short, will be hopefully the first of many to be used for "educational" purposes for its members and guests. He adds.
"Everyone will have fun making it too!"
Quinn agrees with the DP's shooting ideas and more.
"We originally were only going to shoot inside scenes, as mostly written, but the idea of shooting the actors in the parking lot, lining up to cast, and other such scenes works for me.
Too, the film's writer and its DP have been working together lately during this pre-production stage of our film. We don't want to get the actors on set and not be ready!"
