Following in the successful footsteps of “Son of God” and “God’s Not Dead”, Sony’s “Heaven Is For Real” had another successful week. Although it dropped from second into third place overall, there were individual days the film held the top spot, and the average per theater proves that it is in high demand in the cities where it is being screened.

Based on the best-selling book, this is the latest in a new wave of faith-based films to sweep the nation. Starring Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo and Kelly Reilly as his wife, Sonja, this is the incredible account of a family whose small son (Connor Corum) claims to have visited Heaven during a near-death experience. As young Colton matter-of-factly speaks with his parents about things he witnessed or people he met while in Heaven, his knowledge and accuracy baffles his parents initially, but they come to realize that Colton has experienced something they don’t understand. Has Colton truly visited Heaven?

“Heaven is for real” is directed by Randall Wallace {“Braveheart”), who shared screenplay credits with Christopher Parker. Producers are Sue Baden-Powell, Sam Mercer, Derrick Williams, Joe Roth, and T.D. Jakes. CAST: Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Connor Corum, Margo Martindale, and Thomas Haden Church.
