Be filled with the Spirit... (Eph. 5:18)
This could be one of the most debated verses in the New Testament. Entire denominations have been formed around ideas of what it means. The statement is preceded by Paul's exhortation NOT to be drunk with wine, but rather BE filled with the Spirit. In the same way alcohol controls a person who drinks too much, affecting everything they do, God wants us to be so influenced by the Holy Spirit's activity in our life that every fiber of our being, and every action of our life, comes under the Holy Spirit's control. The grammatical structure of the verse literally translates, "be continually being filled with the Spirit." Use this verse today to keep in relationship with God. Whenever it comes to mind, pray "Fill me with the Spirit".
