I and my family have just moved to Las Vegas from the Philippines, and I am interested in finding out more about the Filipino community in this city, and where many Filipinos gather. Please send me information. Thanks.
Thank you for your email and welcome to Las Vegas! There is a fairly large population of Filipinos in Las Vegas, and you and your family will enjoy living here.
There is a Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, but you will find many resources and Filipino businesses located in the area around Maryland Parkway and Sahara. As always, you can find Pinoys where there is food, so I recommend the following to get you started:
- Seafood City on Maryland Parkway near the Boulevard Mall (has a Red Ribbon, Chow King, and Jollibee)
- Pinoy Pinay on the corner of Maryland Parkway and Sahara
- Elena's Restaurant on the corner of Desert Inn and Eastern
There are also several Filipino businesses and restaurants on the corner of Charleston and Maryland Parkway.
As far as churches go, Our Lady of Las Vegas on Alta Drive near Valley View holds a Tagalog music Mass every Sunday at 6:30pm.
I also recommend the following website: FilipinoLasVegas.com.
Good luck on your search, and thank you for reading!
