It was a successful Southern California concert tour stop for Filipino comedian Vice Ganda, selling out his shows in Los Angeles and at Pechanga Resort and Casino dubbed “i-Vice Ganda Mo’Ko Sa Amerika.”
Fans, Filipino and non-Filipino, enjoyed the openly gay fast talking and witty comedian. Interspersing his personal experiences, helped the concerts goers connect with Vice.
In the Philippines, Vice Ganda is known for his quadruple threat talents of comedian, actor, singer and television host. His stand up routines are what people love most along with his evening television talk show, “Gandang Gabi, Vice!” Vice recently won the best actor award at the 30th Annual Philippine Press Movie Club’s Star Awards this past Saturday (Manila time). Unfortunately, Vice Ganda wasn’t able to accept the award since he was wrapping up his show in Southern California.
Speaking to Pacific Rim Video | Front Row Features correspondent Chris Trondsen in an exclusive interview backstage at Pechanga last night, Vice talked about the excitement of winning the best actor award, hair color and more.
“I felt a little sorry. That is my first acting award and I wasn’t there to accept the trophy myself. No regrets because I had a great time here. I am both happy of having success of this concert in the states and back in the Philippines there is an award waiting for me,” says Vice.
It’s not often that the comedian comes out to America for appearances. It’s always enjoyable that he can come connect with his U.S. fans. “That is the very reason I always look forward to doing concerts here and different countries as well because I get the chance to meet my fans and supporters in countries like America. It’s a great feeling I am able to bring happiness to them. I am able to entertain them in my own little way. This is something I look forward to.”
Vice Ganda heads back to Manila to resume his hosting duties on his television shows “It’s Showtime!” and “Gandang Gabi, Vice.”
