File Smarter

Looking for a smarter way to manage all your files? Go with SmartFile. SmartFile is an online FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and document sharing service. For those of you not fluent in technology, it is a service that allows you to grow your website and share documents with a community of your choosing. Three out of four of the SmartFile plans allow you to monitor and expand your domain/site. This means SmartFile gives you the tools you need to keep track of your site and its visitors. All four plans will allow you to share any kind of file (text document, picture, and so forth) with your entire network. For example, if you run a business and want all of your employees to have access to a certain document, then this is the service to turn to.

Let me make it perfectly clear that this service does not offer domain hosting. You do not turn to SmartFile to build your website. But, you do turn here to keep track of it in real time and when you keep better tabs on your website, you will undoubtedly notice patterns that can lead to positive changes regarding your site. And when you make changes to any of the website administration information, no matter where or when, it will be permanent and change on all devices. I will discuss this more later when I talk about updating files. Another stand out feature that involves your website is custom branding. With SmartFile you can use your company’s logo, colors, and images in any file. For example, you can repeat the images that appear on your website in a newsletter (text document).

SmartFile is a smarter way to file, because you can become organized without ever intending to be. This is so easy, because you can create an unlimited number of folders accessible to an unlimited number of users (or just certain groups thereof). This calls for an example, you will inadvertently organize by creating any amount of folders and subfolders—accounting, sales, and such—and these folders can be accessed by all users in your network (remember your network is allowed an unlimited number of users) or just a select few. For example, you may only want managers to see certain marketing spreadsheets and SmartFile can help you with that. Also you can set it up so that a certain group has editing privileges.

On top of this SmartFile also offers FileHub—a cloud service you can use to combine both your Dropbox (another file sharing service that allows you to access all your files, e.g. PDFs, MP3s, videos, and so on, from any location [e.g. any computer, Smartphone, or tablet] and send them to any other location) and SmartFile accounts in one place. Not only can you access your files from anywhere in the world (e.g. a home computer or a publically shared computer), you can also update them at any location and the unique API (Application Processing Interface)—a technical term referring to how computers communicate with one another—translates your changes to all other devices. Remember that you can also update your website’s administration information in the same way and that the same rules apply.

All in all SmartFile really is a smarter way to file. This service really helps you get/stay organized and share your files. Keep in mind that I have just discussed some of the more basic functions of file sharing with SmartFile, there are many other features I did not talk about. So why not file smarter?
