On Tuesday, January 31 at Salem Middle School, Fil-Am Community Action Group (“CAG”) will hold their first meeting of 2012 in the library.
The organization has been involved in all things political and social for the last twenty years, dealing with issues ranging from gang violence to moving legislation related to the community among local, state and federal politicians to any number of concerns voiced by the vast Fil-Am community of Hampton Roads.
Typically, the meetings have guest speakers in the form of School Board members, City Council, Virginia Beach Police Department, local educators, community leaders who all create and continue various dialogue and action plans which affect the daily lives of this thriving demographic.
Some of the points of interest in early 2012 include a Post Virginia Assembly Breakfast and Panel, Medicare-Tricare Town Meeting and an Intergenerational Summit.
Tomorrow’s meeting will run from 6:30-8:30. Fil-AM CAG meets every last Tuesday of the month.
