Fighting The Phoenix hit the ground running at Sunshine Studios Live, on Oct. 25. They were the main support. Letters to the Living, The Last Savior of God and Pens and Needles were the opening acts. Enduality was the headlining act. A Synful Nightmaer was schedule to perform. However, they were not present.
Zach Snyder is the guitarist and backup vocalist, Kyle Snyder is the drummer, Mike Zello is the vocalist, Austin Parks is the guitarist and Kyle Parker is the bassist of Fighting The Phoenix. Ex-member of From Ashes We Rise, Derek Perry, was the special guest vocalist.
Before Fighting The Phoenix began their set with “Clarity”, an instrumental was heard through the speakers. A bright light flashed near the ground, behind Kyle Snyder’s drum set. Shortly after, they took the stage. As soon as they began to play their instruments—some formed a mosh pit, while others stepped aside and made room for it. Parker made his way on top of the center speaker, located in front of Kyle Snyder’s drum set and kicked off the show hovering over his band mates.
Prior to the start of “Ballad of the Broken”—Zello introduced the band, mentioned they were from Cañon City, Colo. and greeted the audience. He spoke of the interesting human suspension before Fighting The Phoenix’s recital, courtesy of Pens and Needles. Afterwards, he displayed his gratitude towards the other bands on the bill with them. During the song—Parks’ guitar strap unbuckled from his guitar, as he managed to maintain his grip, and brought the song to its conclusion.
Former member of From Ashes We Rise, Perry, made his way onto the stage and accompanied Fighting The Phoenix for “Heart of Ice”. He stood beside Zello near front and center of the stage, as they belted out their vocals. After Perry parted the stage, Zello thanked everyone for their support from where they began and to where they are presently.
“When The Dead Come Knocking” brought an end to Fighting The Phoenix’s concert. Zach Snyder, Parks, and Parker stood near the left side of the stage. As they did so—they strummed their string instruments and synchronically motioned their bodies to the tune, before parting ways. During the instrumental, it gave Zello the opportunity to individually introduce his band mates.
“Escape (The Final Destination)” and “Tainted World” were also a part of Fighting The Phoenix’s set.
