Recently is was announced by Triple A MMA that Charles Byrd had to withdraw from the main event bout against Bellator's "Fight Master" finalist Mike Mike Bronzoulis. Triple A MMA also announced that MMA veteran Brandon Farran would take the place of the ailing Byrd.
Sal Mora, Director of Operations and Match Maker for Triple A MMA had this to say via press release, “According to his camp, Byrd suddenly came down with ‘flu like’ symptoms and therefore had to pull out of his bout with Bronzoulis. Yet shortly after we learned that Byrd had committed to a bout on another Texas promotions card, an event set for February. As a result of our findings, we have filed a complaint with the TDLR and are working towards a resolution, be it by a suspension or buyout of some sort. It’s unfortunate, but a situation we sometimes face in combat sports.
Mora went on to say, “On a positive note, we are very happy with our new headliner. It is a compelling match-up that we feel has fight of the night potential. Fans won’t be disappointed!”
Mike Bronzoulis vs Brandon Farran will headline a 9 fight event that will be LIVE around the WORLD on GFL.tv this Thursday night at 9pm EST!
On the undercard, Klay Guy (0-0) and Steve Garcia (2-0) tangle in a bantamweight showdown. Guy will be making his debut against Garcia who is undefeated in his young career. Garcia has stopped both of his former opponents via TKO and will be looking for the KO in this fight. Garcia puts his chin down and swings for the fences and if he catches you, it's game over.
Richard Bailey (0-0) and Marcos Ayub (0-0) throw down in a welterweight pro scrap in each man's pro debut. Bailey fights with a high risk-high reward style and made a name for himself in his amateur days as a fan favorite for his ability to throw caution to the wind. Expect the same type of game plan against Ayub. Ayub is a grappling specialist and was able to take out his amateur opponents with slick wrestling while also grinding them down over three rounds. Ayub has tremendous cardio and will look to push the pace.
Wes Linsley (0-3) and Jacob Capelli (1-3) meet in a bout with both men's backs against the wall. Linsley is looking for his first win and has tuned up his game to where he now is fighting the best of his whole career. He will need that as he faces Capelli who is also in desperate need of a win as he looks to get his record to .500. The first obstacle in Capelli's way is a hungry Linsley. Expect both men to come out of their respective corners like bats out of hell as they try to crush one another.
