If we've learned anything from 2009, perhaps it's the simple phase, "People have the power."

Obama, Reid and Pelosi certainly do. But so do Sgt. Kim Munley, Doug Hoffman, Scott Brown and the voters of Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts and hopefully next, Nevada.

The key to changing America is knowing what kind of change you want, and what kind you don't want. That's where local journalists come in. No one knows better what's going on in Northern Nevada than the people who live here. In Reno, bumper stickers proudly proclaim "Anybody but Harry," but people outside the tarnished silver state still ask if Reid is going to retire or be re-elected, for the fifth time.
