One of the LA Travel Diva’s favorite restaurants, Fig and Olive is opening a flagship outpost at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island on Dec.20. The West Hollywood branch is so popular with Orange County foodies that many are willing to endure freeway traffic just to dine there. Soon they won’t have such a long drive.

Fig & Olive offers recipes inspired by the coastal regions in the South of France, crafted by Executive Chef Pascal Lorange. Raised in the idyllic town of Mougins in the South of France,
Fig & Olive, owner/founder Laurent Halasz said he envisions the new location along the California Riviera coastline to channel the aesthetic and sensibilities found along the French Riviera. “FIig & Olive Newport Beach is very reminiscent of the South of France where I grew up among the olive trees and refined cuisine and décor,” says Halasz. “Our new restaurant aims to transport guests to the French Riviera and it is with great thanks to the shared vision of the Irvine Company that we are able to create this true French Riviera ‘oasis’ in the heart of Orange County.”

Fig & Olive Newport Beach is located on 401 Newport Center Dr., Suite 151 at Fashion Island—the OC’s wonder mall of mass consumerism. Like its WeHo sister, it’s perfect for lunch or dinner before or after a heavy day of holiday gift buying.
