'Fifty Shades of Grey' trailer features a steamy first look at the movie

Fans of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey finally have their first look at the upcoming movie adaptation.

The first trailer for 'Fifty Shades of Grey' features a steamy look at the movie adaptation.

The first official trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey debuted today, and is steaming up the Internet. The movie is based on E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel, which follows the dark and sexy relationship between business tycoon Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and shy reporter Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).

The trailer starts out with Christian and Ana's first meeting, when she comes to interview him.

"He was polite. Intense. Smart. Really intimidating," we hear Ana describing Christian to a friend after their first meeting.

From there, the intensity ramps up until Christian forcefully kisses Ana in an elevator and we see their romance blossom, with helicopter rides and dancing.

At first Christian tries to warn Ana off, with lines like "I'm incapable of leaving you alone," and "You should leave me alone." (If those lines sound a bit familiar, they should. Fifty Shades of Grey originally got its start online as steamy Twilight fan fiction, with the main characters based off of Edward and Bella.)

Eventually things get steamier, until Christian admits: "I don't do romance. My tastes are very singular. You wouldn't understand."

"Enlighten me, then," Ana replies. It is then we finally peek Christian's so-called "red room of pain," where he keeps all his BDSM sex toys. We glimpse short, tight shots of some of these items - until we see Ana, hands tied and blindfolded, gasping in ecstasy.

The entire trailer is set to a sultry, slowed-down version of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" (an exclusive for the movie).

Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters on Valentine's Day next year.
