It seems like just yesterday that rumors of a “Fifty Shades of Grey” film was in the making began. Following the news of which stars will be portraying the main characters, on Wednesday, September 4, ComingSoon.net announced when production will begin filming.
According to the source, production for “Fifty Shades of Grey” will begin shooting at North Shore Studios in Vancouver this winter on November 5.
Yesterday, production shocked fans when they announced who will be taking on the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele: Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson. Cinemablend reports that fans have gone as far as petition against the stars to remove them from the roles. The petition is as follows:
Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING.
The movie site reports that the petition has reached almost 20,000 signatures, but it’s unlikely that it will make a difference. Fans disagreeing over casting is nothing new, just weeks ago, Batman fans went into a riot over production casting Ben Affleck as the new Bruce Wayne. A petition was form for that too, and the producer has said the decision of casting Affleck will not change.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is scheduled for an August 1, 2014 release. The film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti, and the author of the book this series will be based on, E.L. James.
