Entertainment Weekly reports that the last minute scramble to replace Charlie Hunnam as the leading man, Christian Grey, will cause filming to start later than expected. Production was originally planned for mid-November, but the cast change pushed it back to December 2.
There is some speculation that the production delay could also delay the release of the movie, which is based on the E L James best-selling book series “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Hunnam was slated to play the kinky CEO, Christian Grey, but pulled out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. He was later replaced by Britsh actor, Jamie Dornan.
Fans had mixed emotions about Hunnam staring as Grey. In fact, many said he didn't fit the role at all, and others couldn't see him as anyone other than his role as Jax on “Sons of Anarchy," so there was a collective sigh of relief when he dropped out.
Dornan was met with a much warmer reception. Many fans say he fits the description of Grey much better.
