The world is waiting on pins and needles for any news regarding "Fifty Shades of Grey" and one of the members of Team Fifty addressed fans this weekend. On August 24 Dana Brunetti spoke with fan and Northwest Prime radio host Lori Ness. The interview covered multiple topics but the "greysessed" were focused on his discussion of the highly anticipated book adaptation.
Casting was the elephant in the room during this interview and Dana Brunetti decided to discuss it first saying it is "one thing that I don't want to talk about but I know everybody wants to know about." He continued to say that E L James created some in-depth characters which, "makes it pretty difficult to cast." Brunetti admitted that the casting process is currently taking place and the chemistry between potential actors will be a deciding factor in who is ultimately cast as Christian and Ana.
While no names were mentioned, there was a discussion of the Christian Grey favorites. Team Fifty has been listening to the fan chatter but they are aware that there is no way to please everyone. Once casting is announced there will always be a group of fans disappointed in the choice. While one of the favorites may not be cast, Brunetti reassured followers that Team Fifty hopes fans will be happy with the movie and the focus right now is on creating the best film possible.
Dana Brunetti revealed that his business partner Michael De Luca "really liked the book" and had a vision for the film before pitching to E L James. The author must have believed in his ideas and hired the producing duo who were up against a slew of other producers in Hollywood. Brunetti is hopeful that eventually all three novels will be seen on the big screen.
