Many unknowns still remain regarding the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, including a completed script, confirmed director, film rating, and casting Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Yet the IB Times reported this Tuesday, Jan. 29, that two actors and fan favorites are seeing a sharp spike in popularity on Tumblr this week: Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder. Celeb Dirty Laundry also alleged this morning that E.L. James may be hinting a big reveal soon following her photo shoot, while screenwriter Kelly Marcel recently took to Twitter to clarify on the rumored NC-17 rating for the film.
“Man of Steel” Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries” (along with Matt Bomer and Alexander Skarsgard) are often mentioned when fans fantasize about seeing Christian Grey on the big screen in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie. From recent posts on Tumblr this week, the IB Times reported that these two stars — Henry Cavill with his rising attention for this summer’s “Superman” movie, and Ian Somerhalder for his many hints about the casting role — have been highly discussed of late as Christian, and want fans on other social media sites to “take note.”
EL James’ bestselling erotic novel has some competition this week, as another popular romance series, “Crossfire,” has some ladies “cheating” on Christian with male lead Gideon Cross, says the report. Having read “Bared to You,” the erotic first book may certainly help fellow fans get over the loss of finishing the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy as another excellent read. And while we wait impatiently for the “50 Shades” film and Christian Grey on-screen, many of us need all the help we can get.
Celeb Dirty Laundry added to the casting discussion this week by taking a look at the film’s rating. While Kelly Marcel first reported in her interview that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie would definitely “stay sexy” and “true to the book,” she did clarify in early January via Twitter that the NC-17 rating is not confirmed.
“To be absolutely clear, I NEVER said what the film would be rated. Only the ratings board can decide what the rating will be.”
The delicate blend of intense sexuality and a romantic love story found between Christian and Ana in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” novel will likely play the biggest role (along with how Miss Marcel adapts her screenplay) in determining the final rating. For now, all we fans can hope is EL James (who also took to Twitter this week about an upcoming photo shoot, which may or may not have something to do with her novel’s adaptation) offers us some breaking news on the hotly anticipated flick soon.
