With casting for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie at least in its preliminary stages with talk of Stephen Amell having perhaps the “first” Christian Grey meeting last month, it certainly makes sense that the music soundtrack is right around the corner. And according to FansShare this Monday, April 1, a mega-popular boy band may already be making progress on a “Fifty Shades of Grey” theme — none other than teen heartthrobs One Direction.
Unless this is simply some sort of April Fool’s prank, sources according to the site have revealed that the hit “Kiss You” singers are currently working on the featured theme song for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie.
Hailing from the inner goddess author EL James’ U.K. homeland, One Direction is an “X Factor” boy band that skyrocketed to fame and now have millions of fans worldwide. While it would understandably raise many eyebrows that the adult “Fifty Shades of Grey” would mix with such a younger audience-oriented music group, it might very well make both the teens and the novel become even more well-known than ever.
The original report notes with the steamy film set to appear as early as summer 2014, One Direction has been approached to sing the romantic theme song. There has been no word yet what the British boy band is specifically working on for the number, though it is very possible that a potential soundtrack is already being considered.
For now, however, fellow “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans should stay somewhat skeptical of this interesting news involving 1D.
One thing that can be considered from the talk this week, however, is what song(s) you feel would work on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie soundtrack?
Are there any songs that readers immediately thought of while reading the novel that would translate well to the film adaptation? Should an original song score be included for the feature film’s main theme? And would you approve of One Direction possibly being the lead singers of quite possibly the biggest film of 2014?
