Fan casting for the hotly anticipated “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie has taken a surprising turn this week, as the IB Times reported this Thursday, Jan. 17, that support for Ryan Gosling as Christian Grey has once again sharply risen among readers after “Twilight” actress Anna Kendrick recently posted a controversial tweet about the talented “The Notebook” star. Gather Entertainment also noted this Wednesday that the number of fans clamoring to cast Henry Cavill as Anastasia Steele’s bedroom lover have also increased this week after a new list of reasons emerged, claiming why the muscled “Man of Steel” is "perfect" for the part of Christian Grey.
Anna Kendrick’s quite racy tweet this week had Ryan Gosling fans in a tizzy after the star took to Twitter to post:
“Ugh. NEVER going to a Ryan Gosling movie in theaters again. Apparently masturbating in the back row is still considered inappropriate.”
With over 30,000 re-tweets and over 25,000 favorites, Kendrick has once more sparked Ryan Gosling fans who want to see him in the steamy role of Christian Grey in “50 Shades.” The IB Times added that Gosling just won a casting poll yesterday among thousands of fans, hinting that Anna Kendrick’s racy Twitter post may have been the key source of the resurgence of support.
Henry Cavill of “Man of Steel” fame is not to be counted out either this week, as the actor received widespread excitement from fans after “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie producer Dana Brunetti wrote he was to be meeting with agents that just so happen to also be closely connected with none other than Cavill at the moment.
Gather notes that this popularity continued to rise after the IB Times posted five reasons why Henry Cavill would make a “perfect” Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, including the rising star’s availability, similar age range, gentleman-like vibe, and knee-buckling stare.
Of course, fans would do well not to count out fan favorites Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer for the casting role of Christian Grey either, though the two talented actors haven’t had too much news lately connected with the film under Henry Cavill’s spotlight. At the same time, it’s very possible that a more dark-horse contender like Stephen Amell of “Arrow,” Garrett Hedlund, or Alex Pettyfer might be currently considered under EL James’ watchful eye as well.
Whichever Christian and Ana are chosen, however, it’s likely that EL James will select her sexy CEO on the silver screen that pleases a majority of fellow “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie fans, as the beautifully complex love story between the two—as well as Christian’s innate depth and charm—are what garnered many readers to the erotic novel trilogy in the first place.
