The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie has just had a major cast shake up. On Oct. 12, TMZ reported that the actor cast to play Christian Grey -- the self-absorbed, sex addict millionaire -- has dropped out of the film! So, if you were, say, less than thrilled about Charlie Hunnam being cast as Christian... you're in luck... because he was forced to leave the cast in the dust due to his "day" job.
"According to reports ... the decision was made because Hunnam wasn't able to 'adequately prepare' for the role due to his 'immersive' TV schedule," TMZ reports. Evidently, Hunnam's "Sons of Anarchy" schedule is just too crazy.
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie is already getting slammed because of the nature of the novels for which the series of films will be based. You see, Christian Grey and his leading lady, Anastasia Steele, don't have a lot going for them. They just do a lot of naughty things... so sure, taking on the role of Grey is somewhat questionable because if these movies are terrible, the actors in the film could taint their careers -- but then again, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez did okay after "Gigli."
So, while it's arguable that Hunnam dropped out because he didn't want his name on the bill... it's probably not the reason... because the films hold a ton of promise. And, most importantly, now that Hunnam is out (he certainly wasn't the first choice amongst fans) maybe a more appealing Grey will be in. Like Ian Somerhalder. Maybe. Pretty please?
Will the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie be better without Hunnam? Who are you hoping scores the role of Grey?
