'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie casting: Stephen Amell talks Christian Grey meeting

Author E.L. James has made it all but crystal clear that casting for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is quite some time away, but Just Jared reported this Thursday, March 21, that one Christian Grey contender may have at least heard something official about the hotly anticipated adaptation. Stephen Amell of “Arrow” fame recently took to Facebook to say that he’s had a real meeting about the film!

It was only this Wednesday that actor Stephen Amell — who has made the top ten Christian Grey list in the past — was spotted kissing his co-star Katie Cassidy on the “Arrow” set.

And only a little time later, Amell took to Facebook to send his many fans some very surprising news: that he’s reportedly had a meeting for the Christian Grey role in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie.

“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn’t call it long, but I wouldn’t call it close,” said Stephen.

Stephen Amell has long been considered one of the fan favorites for the role, though he certainly faces hot competition from such actors as Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder, and Henry Cavill. Yet the “Arrow” star has said that he would be open to the casting part in the past.

“I mean, if you think about [me as Christian in the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ film], it would probably be a role of four movies total … with the last being two parts. I don’t even have a house yet. So I don’t think I’d be turning down that role any time soon!”

Fellow “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans, could you see Stephen Amell as your Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades” film?
