The latest round of casting for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is here, and this week fans of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele get their first look at Ana Steele’s official mother on the silver screen, to be played by British actress Jennifer Ehle. According to Contact Music this Wednesday, Oct. 9, the talented star is best known for her critically acclaimed role in the “Pride and Prejudice” TV series, and will soon be bringing a new side to the steamy film adaptation by EL James.
Although casting contentions for many characters in the film adaptation have been heated among fans of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” the part of Anastasia Steele’s mother has gone relatively unnoticed. Yet Jennifer Ehle seems to be a perfect choice for the role, as the experienced actress has more than a few solid roles (including that of “Pride and Prejudice”) under her metaphorical belt.
Ehle will be playing Carla May Wilks, the flighty and often self-centered mom from the South that is currently on her fourth husband at the time of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” novels. Her somewhat similar looks to the already cast Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) will likely mesh well on the big screen, and only brings the idea that the movie is truly underway more the forefront this week.
With Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey also in the wings for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, the upcoming film is set for a release this Aug. 2014. Yet though casting certainly seems to be underway, there is no doubt a lot of work left to do in order to have the flick completed on time now.
