It will still be a year or so until “Fifty Shades of Gray” hits theaters but we have plenty of inside scoop on the movie, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and how much sex will be in the film. According to a Feb. 6 report by Yahoo News, here’s what we know so far.

Dakota Johnson won the coveted role of Anastasia Steele last fall just after news that “Sons of Anarchy” stud, Charlie Hunnam had dropped out of the project. Johnson has appeared in “The Social Network” and “Five Year Engagement.” She has the acting gene, too, since her parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson.

Mr. Gray is being played by hunky Irishman Jamie Dornan, formerly of “Once Upon a Time.” Dornan at one time dated the stunning Kiera Knightley.

Filming started in December in Vancouver where the stars were spotted some fully-clothed scenes around town. No doubt this was to ease them into a level of comfort before getting to the “meatier” scenes. Some of that has probably been filmed as well because the pair has also spent a great deal tucked away in a local studio.

Rita Ora is playing Gray’s sister Mia. Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle have been seen filming scenes as well. Rumor has it Katie Cassidy will play Gray’s former girlfriend Leila.

Dornan’s time on set is coming to a close as he is due back in Belfast later this month so he can begin work on the second sun of the crime series “The Fall” with Gillian Anderson.

James’ trilogy of books had everyone talking because of the lurid sex scenes. Rumors have flown ever since the movie was announced that the screen version would be greatly toned down in order to keep America’s highest cinema rating which would prohibit anyone under 18.

Producer Michael De Luca had this to say on the subject:

"We're very conscious of not making anything gratuitous or exploitive while being faithful to the stories of the book and the fans of the book.

"We're going to give them what they expect, which is an intense and erotic love story. Obviously the film can't be as explicit as the book. A picture is worth 1,000 words. So to be erotic on screen means I think an image is going to have way more power than reading the words on a page."

It was alleged by Perez Hilton last month that James' trio of novels would be condensed into one film, following the whisperings that Jamie and Dakota were heading to Spain to film honeymoon scenes that don't take place until the third book.

On the subject of whether or not the trilogy is being condensed into one movie, that rumor has been laid to rest. Universal has stated that the movie will focus solely on the contents of book one and that a trilogy of films is planned.

The movie is set to open in February 2015 with a target of Valentine’s Day to hopefully draw in the more romantic movie goers.
