"Shades" author, E.L. James announced this morning, September 2, 2013 that:
Then a half hour later "Fifty Shades of Grey" another announcement from James:
The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
I had predicted a while back that "Shades" would cast little known actors. The casting of Dakota who has some big films, but small parts under her wing is what I had in mind, not her specifically, but an actor with her resume.
Charlie Hunnan, on the other hand, has as tons of good work to his name. He was in the recently released "Pacific Rim." However, Hunnan's was thrust into the spotlight by TV. He did ten episodes of "Queen as Folk" and ten episodes in "Undeclared." It was a show about outlaw bikers that made Charlie a star. Playing Jackson 'Jax' Teller on "Sons of Anarchy" for 71 episodes has put Charlie solidly in the sites of the bigger Hollywood filmmakers.
Charlie, who is blond will probably have to die his hair black. Black hair with those baby blues will make him a bit more 'Christian' like. Standing 6' 1" is a decent height, but I would have liked Christian to be a bit taller, but that's just me.
Dakota, who was will be playing Anastasia, probably didn't need to have a lot of acting experience. She is from an acting family. The daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith has spent her life watching her parents act.
Dakota is 5 ' 7" which will make up for Charlie's height.
Miss Johnson was the third generation of women in her family to serve as 'Miss Golden Globe.' Her mother, Melanie was also a Miss Golden Globe as was her grandmother Tippi Hedren.
If the above is actually true, the cast has a good start. This is such fresh news that it isn't on the duo's IMDb pages yet.
Good luck to the new starts and we look forward to you having lots of kinky sex on screen.
