Fifth Harmony begins debut album in L.A.; personal appearance in Miami

Fifth Harmony, the group that came in third place on "The X Factor" U.S. in 2012, is set to begin recording its debut album in Los Angeles in February 2013. Meanwhile, Fifth Harmony members Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello are making a personal appearance at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in Miami on Feb. 10, 2013, as part of the school's Tombola festival. The two singers will be doing a meet-and-greet session from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST in the Kiddie Corral Booth, according to Belen Jesuit Preparatory School.

As previously reported, Fifth Harmony is signed to Syco Music/Epic Records, which announced in a press release: "Fifth Harmony’s debut album will be A&R’d by Syco Music and executive produced by multi platinum selling producer/songwriter Julian Bunetta (One Direction, Boyz II Men, Flo Rida, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis), who first worked with the girl group as a music producer on The X Factor. The album will also feature collaborations with songwriters Autumn Rowe (Cher Lloyd, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis) and Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Pink, Jessie J, Cody Simpson)."

The five members of Fifth Harmony are Jauregui, Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen and Ally Brooke, who are ages 15 to 19. They all originally auditioned for "The X Factor" as solo singers but were rejected as solo singers and put into a group together by "X Factor" decision makers. This is the same way that "X Factor" U.K. alumni groups One Direction and Little Mix were formed.

Fifth Harmony, One Direction and Little Mix are all signed to Syco Music, the record company co-owned by "The X Factor" executive producer Simon Cowell and Sony Music. Cowell was the "X Factor" mentor to Fifth Harmony and One Direction.

In anticipation of Fifth Harmony getting together in Los Angeles, the members of the group sent each other messages on Twitter on Feb. 9, 2013:
