FIFA extended ban on Antonio Conte

On Friday, FIFA extended the 10-month ban that was sanctioned to Antonio Conte for the accusations of match-fixing two seasons ago. The Juventus coach will not be able to sit on the bench with his team next week when the Italian club team faces Chelsea for a UEFA Champions League game.

FIFA stated that the sanction covers all aspects of coaching. Conte is not allowed to coach his team for local games, friendly games, international games, etc. He is to stay away from Juventus period! Before, the sanction only applied to Serie A games, local games in Italy.

The Italian club team which has won two UEFA Champions League title debuts in the prestigious international tournament on Wednesday against the Champions, Chelsea, in England.

Antonio Conte was sanctioned the original ban right before the 2012-2013 season started in Italy. He is currently appealing the sanction, and FIFA has stated that things could change if Conte gets his appeal granted.
