Educators interested in taking students on field trips to Indiana Dunes State Park in the 2013-2014 school year can receive financial help through the Dunes Conservation Field Trip Grant Program.

This grant program, funded by the Friends of Indiana Dunes, is for public, private, parochial or home-school educators.

Applications from eligible teachers are due by July 15, and can be found at friendofindianadunes.org, or at the Indiana Dunes State Park office and nature center.

Field trips offer students an opportunity to learn about conservation, wildlife and the natural and cultural history of Indiana Dunes. These learning experiences support science and other academic concepts.

For more information, call (219) 926-1390. Indiana Dunes State Park is at 1600 North 25 E. Chesterton, 46304.
