Fidelity Investments ramps up hiring in Raleigh area

As it negotiates to buy a four-building complex at the southeast corner of N.C. 54 and Davis Drive leased by bankrupt Nortel, Fidelity Investments appears to have begun ramping up hiring in the Raleigh/Durham area.

Fidelity has job listings for entry level slots in customer service, software development, and systems support.  They also have the following IT slots for experienced professionals:
  • Project Managers
  • Systems Analysts
  • Software Developers & Engineers (including Java, ASP.NET, C#, C++, SQL, Oracle)
  • Mainframe Developers
  • Webfocus Developer
  • Windows & Linux Support Specialists
  • Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Vice President of Software Engineering
  • Director of Software Engineering
Fidelity employs around 2,200 people in Research Triangle Park and Cary.  In late 2008 and 2009, the company laid off some 250 local workers in the wake of the national economic downturn and never built the campus it had planned for 268 acres it purchased in RTP.  Fidelity already occupies some of the space they're looking to buy, and the purchase would give them the opportunity to unite all of their Raleigh area employees into one campus.
