Fiddler on the Roof to Play at State Theater in New Brunswick

Fiddler on the Roof is slated to show at the State Theater in New Brunswick February 17-18.  Fiddler on the Roof has been entertaining audiences from the youngest ticket holders upwards for generations.  Few shows have captivated audiences like  Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's Fiddler on the Roof.  Even modern pop culture shows such at "The Wonder Pets" have referenced this Broadway standard, exposing even the youngest of children.

Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem (Tevye and his Daughters), the Tony-Award-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof has been praised by audiences and critics alike and won the hearts of people all around the world. Because of it's familiar storyline (family drama), it is relatable no matter what your religion, race, creed, or age.  This is an excellent show to bring the whole family to, and a fun way to open a dialog about other religions or cultures.

Filled with a buoyant and heartwarming score, which includes favorites such as “If I Were A Rich Man,” and “Sunrise, Sunset,” Fiddler on the Roof is a timeless classic.

Fiddler stars veteran actor John Preece as Tevye, Barbi McGuire of Maplewood,NJ (Yente, The Matchmaker), Pamela Chabora (Golde), Brooke Hills (Tzeitel), Sarah Sesler (Hodel), Chelsey LeBel (Chava), Brenne Rimberg (Shprintze), Kristin Morris (Bielke), Andrew Boza (Motel, The Tailor), Joshua Phan-Gruber (Perchik, The Student), and David B. Springstead, Sr. (Lazar Wolf, The Butcher).

Fiddler on the Roof is part of the State Theater's winter festival, Hub City Carnivale, four weeks of performances, activities, and attractions for all ages.  For tickets or more information, call the State Theatre ticket office at 732-246-SHOW (7469), or visit online at www.StateTheatreNJ.org.
