Alfa Romeo will be returning to the North American market and to Austin the first week of August - and Alfa Romeo of Austin (also Fiat of Austin) will have them, according to an announcement today (Tuesday) from Fiat Chrysler. The first group of dealers to be awarded franchises numbers 82 across 22 states in the U.S. plus four in Canada. These 86 dealers will be the first to sell the all-new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C coupe starting with the limited-edition 4C Launch Edition.

In anticipation of being awarded one of the coveted franchises, Fiat of Austin had recently moved to a much larger location in Austin in order to provide proper showroom and service areas for both brands. The Alfa Romeo of Austin dealership is now located at 13040 U.S. 183 North, about five miles north of its original Fiat location in The Domain shopping mall, where it had operated in a 6,000 square foot store front since the Fiat brand returned to the U.S in 2011.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be selected to represent the Alfa Romeo line of vehicles here in Austin,” said Lisa Copeland, General Manager of Fiat of Austin. “Our new 29,000 square-foot studio showroom and service facility will enable us to provide our unique, boutique customer experience to Alfa Romeo customers just as we have with the Fiat brand.”

Copeland says that Alfa Romeo of Austin expects to have cars in their studio showroom about the first week of August with the arrival of the Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition which will have a MSRP of $73,000.

The special 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition will be be offered in Alfa Red (Rosso Competizione) and in White (Madreperla).

The Launch Edition will include Bi-xenon headlamps with LED illuminated daytime running lights, carbon fiber rear spoiler and mirror caps, aluminum rear diffuser, race suspension tuning with front- and rear-sway bars and performance-tuned shock absorbers, racing exhaust, staggered 18-inch (front) and 19-inch (rear) forged wheels painted in Dark Gray, and red lacquered brake calipers.

Inside, the special treatment will continue with sport seats in black microfiber, leather-wrapped instrument and door panels plus Red or White interior accent stitching on the instrument panel, steering wheel, handbrake, floor mats and door handles.

The new all-aluminum 1750 cc turbocharged four-cylinder engine will deliver 237 horsepower with 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mated to a paddle-shifting Alfa TCT twin-clutch transmission, which has been specifically tuned for the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C. Using new and uniquely calibrated software that adjusts with the Alfa DNA selector system, the Alfa TCT’s gearshifts are designed to become most aggressive in the Dynamic and Race modes.

The Alfa TCT system also integrates a “launch control” mode – delivering the most acceleration possible as soon as the driver releases the brake. Fiat Chrysler says it will have a top speed of 160 miles per hour with 0-to-60 mph acceleration in the mid-4 second range.
