This summer the list of music festivals has music lovers travelling all across the country to see the best shows at the most exciting places. But nothing is more satisfying than enjoying a music festival with all your friends and family in your own hometown. Festy Fest is the perfect festival for the party people of Lawrence, Kansas City and the entire region. The lineup of fantastic bands, the convenient location and smart set-up make this the ideal weekend for every music lover.
According to the Festy Fest website, this festival will be just $40 for anyone who joins bandorbar.com as a member or a fan. The website allows bars and bands to network in order to schedule shows. Joining the website is free, and the festival is a steal at just $40! The festival begins on Friday May 20th and ends the 22nd.
The Festy Fest lineup includes many of the best local bands in Lawrence and Kansas City as well as friends and neighbors from around the Midwest. Some of this reviewer's favorite bands include:
Ashes to Immortality, Ben Miller Band, Billy the Squirrel, Blue Martian Tribe, Brody Buster Band, Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy, Cosmopolitics, Deadman Flats, The Floozies, Fuzz Nasty, Mountian Sprout, and last but certainly not least on my list of favorites is Mouth!
Over 25 bands will play on two stages, which will mean that music should be playing all the time. Festy Fest veterans will remember that the set up is convenient, so that party people can easily move from Stage 1 to Stage 2 whenever they want, catching parts of different sets or watching bands play back-to-back.
The location is conveniently close to Lawrence, just ten minutes outside of town. GTI Taxicab Service is available 24/7, so no drinking and driving! Also, Sonic Sutra and 3 Son Green will be playing at the Bottleneck Saturday night. Anyone with a Festy Fest wristband can get into this show for just $3 and there will be a shuttle service going between the Festy Fest campground and the Bottleneck, so party people can go between the festival and downtown without having to drive!
This year tickets are considerably cheaper than they were last year, and there is a limited space for this small, but powerful festival, so do not miss your chance! Remember, the festival starts on the 20th!
