There are quite a few special events as well as regular events featuring live music this coming week, March 24-30.

Last week, Orlando band Fireflight announced a fundraising project on Pledge Music for their next CD. The band has reached 24% of their goal with 49 days left. Visit their campaign page here and see what they have to offer for donations.

Bombshell’s Tavern announced they have renewed their commitment to producing some of the best live music events in Orlando. They have a revamped stage, a new sound system and a new talent buyer dedicated to bringing in and promoting the best shows. Music fans can read more about it in this Examiner.com article and see a listing of some of the venue’s upcoming shows.

On Saturday is the CD release show for Wheeler Newman and the Cosmic Roots Collective’s debut “Poor & Happy” at The Venue in Orlando. Also on the bill are The Prisoners of Rock of Rock N Roll (a Neil Young Tribute band), Stephen Rock and Brian Chodorcoff.

There are several festivals coming up this weekend featuring live music. On Saturday is The Sixth Annual East Orlando Beer Festival at Waterford Lakes Town Center and the Kowtown Festival at Kissimmee's Lakefront Park. March 29 and 30 is the Uptown Art Expo at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. The Little Econ Love Fest: 3 Days of Music, Art, Wellness takes place at Maddox Ranch in Lakeland. Yes, it’s in Lakeland, but there are a bunch of Orlando based bands in the lineup.

On Sunday, there are a couple of charity events giving music fans a chance to not only enjoy some great live music but to help out their community as well. At Will’s Pub is Poca’s Hottest Third Annual Hot Sauce Cook Off and Can Drive featuring live music from Fat Night, Rocketfish, Jessica L Martens, funkUs and more TBA. Later, inside will be more music with The New Originals, The Absinthe Trio and Milka. The cans collected will go to the Fern Creek Elementary School pantry. At the Beacham in downtown is Supra Song Live: A Fundraiser to Benefit Ian Supra event hosted by Chris Kirkpatrick and featuring live music from Big Kettle Drum.

Monday, March 24

Will’s Pub - 1042 N. Mills Ave. - Norsekorea presents live music from Hungover, Head North, Haunter and Another Close Call for this 18+ show. Tickets are $6 inadvance or $8 at the door. The doors open at 8 p.m.

BB Kings Blues Club - 9101 International Dr. - Live music from Blue Stone Circle from 7:30-11:30 p.m.

West End Trading Company - 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) - RPR presents open mic hosted by Sharkbait of The Happy Campers at 8 p.m. This FREE event is 18+.

Tuesday, March 25

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - Twisted Tuesday with Holey Miss Moley for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, with a $2 donation to the Red Lion Community Emergency Fund. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Social - 54 North Orange Ave. - Live performances from The Grouch & Eligh, Eliot Lipp, Pigeon John and DJ Fresh for this 18+ show. Tickets are $15 and the doors open at 8 p.m.

BB Kings Blues Club - 9101 International Dr. - Live music from B.B. King’s All Star Band from 7:30-11:30 p.m.

Smiling Bison - 745 Bennett Road - Live music from the John Krasula Jazz Trio at 7 p.m. for this FREE all ages show.

This week’s in studio guests are Reggie Williams and Eugene Snowden.

Special VIP tickets are available for $20 and include cook off judging honors. Send an email to pocashottest@gmail.com to reserve VIP tickets. This family friendly outside event includes food trucks, live painting and local vendors. The cans collected will go to the Fern Creek Elementary School pantry. After the outside party, the festivities move indoors with live music from The New Originals, The Absinthe Trio and Milka for an 18+ show. Tickets are $5 or FREE with cook off wristband.

The Timucua Arts White House - 2000 S. Summerlin Ave. - An evening of Latin Jazz featuring Michiko Morell (vocals/percussion), Marty Morell (vibraphone), Richard Drexler (piano), Jeff Rupert (tenor sax), Ben Kramer (bass), Carlito Garcia (congas) and special guest, Dimas Sanchez (drums and timbales). This event is scheduled from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

The Beacham - 46 N. Orange Ave. - Supra Song Live: A Fundraiser to Benefit Ian Supra event hosted by Chris Kirkpatrick and featuring live music from Big Kettle Drum. This event kicks off at 5 p.m. and is for ages 12+. Tickets are $10 with special VIP tickets available for $50. Ian Supra is an All-American swimmer and water polo player who is battling stage IV esophageal cancer.
