This summer, take advantage of the many opportunities to explore the Harrisburg area by attending some of the numerous festivals being hosted in and around Pennsylvania’s capital. From arts festivals to air shows and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

· Harrisburg Music and Wine Festival

o Where: Harrisburg, PA

o When: June 14-June 15, 2014

o What: In addition to the live music being performed, Pennsylvania’s top wineries will be offering their goods for wine tasting. Live performers include The Cornlickers, Dana Fuchs and The Humblers. No outside alcohol is permitted at this event.

· Annual Museum Car Show and Flea Market

o Where: Hershey, PA

o When: June 21, 2014

o What: The AACA Museum in Hershey will host a day-long event that includes an antique car show, 50/50 drawing and live entertainment. There will also be a celebration for the 50th anniversary of the Mustang car.

· Italian Lake Concerts Series

o Where: Harrisburg, PA

o When: June 22; July 27; August 17, 2014

o What: Harrisburg Young Professionals will put on their annual concert series thought the summer season. The free concerts will showcase a variety of music such as jazz and soul music.

· Celtic Fling and Highland Games

o Where: Mount Hope, PA

o When: June 27-June 29, 2014

o What: Celebrating all things Celtic, this festival will have traditional Celtic food and music throughout the weekend. Other events include Irish dancing, Celtic critters — dogs and horses — and Gaelic sports.

· Pride Festival of Central PA

o Where: Harrisburg, PA

o When: July 20-27, 2014

o What: As part of an annual tradition since 1992, the Pride Festival of Central PA promotes awareness for the LGBT community. The festival offers live entertainment, music acts and a parade through Harrisburg.

· Cultural Fest

o Where: Harrisburg, PA

o When: August 1, 2014

o What: Cultural Fest celebrates the wide diversity in the Harrisburg area. A variety of ethnic food will be offered while local and national recording artists perform for the city. The parade showcases the different cultures all blended together.

· Central PA Jazz Festival

o Where: Harrisburg, PA

o When: August 7-10

o What: As one of the biggest jazz festivals in the area, the Central PA Jazz Festival hosts many talented jazz musicians to showcase their work. Many of the acts are still TBA.
