There was a ferry accident in lower Manhattan during rush hour on Wednesday morning. The ferry was coming in from New Jersey banged into a dock as it pulled up to Pier 11 in lower Manhattan. According to reports by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday Jan. 9 more than 30 people have suffered some type of injuries.
The Seastreak Wall Street ferry was coming in from Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey when it crashed into the mooring at Pier 11 in lower Manhattan at around 8:45 a.m.
The private company offers high-speed catamaran service between central New Jersey, the Rockaway peninsula in Queens and Manhattan, according to the company's website.
As of right now reports are coming in that there is one person who is in critical condition due to head injuries.
Others are being attended to by on the scene emergency medical professionals and have been placed on stretchers with their heads and necks restrained.
CNN has also received confirmation from an employee at Seastreek that one of their vessels was indeed involved in the accident at Pier 11. However, the company is still assessing the damages and how the accident occurred.
