Ferris State fans will have to get used to playing few if any Big Ten teams

The 2013-14 Western Collegiate Hockey Association schedule came out the other day for Ferris State.
Guess what?
Michigan State's not on it. Neither is Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame Western Michigan and Miami.
Those are of course the teams that would draw plenty of fans to Ferris State home games.
But when Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State went to the Big Ten newly formed conference and others went to other conferences in the west with North Dakota and Denver, Division II teams like Ferris were stuck to find a new league
So Ferris has Michigan Tech, Alaska, Lake Superior, Minnesota State and the like coming to Big Rapids for hockey.
There are hopes that some of the other teams will come for non-league games, but don't hold your breath.
It will be interesting when Ferris hockey fans look at next year's schedule and the reaction they'll have.
