Fenwick Wine Cellars announces Elvis & Friends Takeover

Fenwick Wine Cellars, located at 38016 Fenwick Shoals Road in Fenwick Island, Delaware recently announced the “Elvis & Friends Takeover” at the winery, scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The event features entertainment from “Elvis” as well as Mario Rocco, and tickets are $20 per person, which includes a glass of wine and pizza from Billy’s Subs and Pizza.

Bob Lougheed, and Elvis performer, is a native Delawarean, born in Claymont, Delaware. His sister, Bev, introduced him to Elvis when he was very young, and he won his first talent competition in high school, winning $25, and he would occasionally entertain his friends and family at weddings with his impersonations, but he never pursued Elvis impersonations professionally. Bob is proud of the fact that he was able to see one of Elvis’ final concerts in Philadelphia in 1977.

In 2007, Bob was diagnosed with prostate cancer, received treatment at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, where he was given a clean bill of health. In 2009, he relocated to Millsboro, and on January 8, 2010, which also happens to be Elvis’ birthday, he was asked to perform for at the 90th birthday celebration of a woman in a local rehabilitation home. Using a CD player, household stereo speakers, a rented costume and some assistance from his brother, Earl, Bob performed a 30-minute show and a star was born. Bob has performed at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, The Buck Hotel in Pennsylvania, The Historic Owens Theater in Branson, Missouri and many others. He has won six awards, and his unique portrayal of Elvis most recently qualified him to compete in the King of the World Competition next August.

Mario Rocco, a singer and entertainer from Wilmington, performs a show called “Images of Elvis,” which combines dance music from the 60’s and 70’s with Top 40 and country. Mario has even performed at Veteran’s Stadium for the Philadelphia Phillies, and has been the opening act for such famous acts as The Coasters, Billy Dean, Tammy Wynette, Eddie Rabbit and the Marshall Tucker Band. Mario toured Europe and Jamaica as well.

This promises to be a fun event at Fenwick Wine Cellars, and there are limited tickets available so be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible.
