Female in Texas execution has been put on hold.

Texas inmate Kimberly McCarthy won’t be executed as planned; she would have been one of the first women executed since 2010. She got the reprieve five hours prior to the time she would be executed. She would have been executed by lethal injection. McCarthy is accused of murdering her 71 year old neighbor in 1997.

The murder itself was a gruesome story; McCarthy called her neighbor asking to barrow a cup of sugar. Once inside the neighbor’s house McCarthy attacked the neighbor, and then cut off the poor ladies finger while she was still alive for a diamond ring which after the murder she pawned for 200.00. It is said McCarthy after murdering her neighbor stole her Mercedes and credit cards and went and bought drugs and liquor.

McCarthy’s punishment has been rescheduled for April 03, 2013. I will keep you posted with new developments.
