Urban cities with such a large ethnic population can often ignore the needs of young women who struggle with financial and personal issues in their lives. Though many organizations offer assistance to those women in need are just a temporary solutions rather than a permanent fix. As young women faced with overwhelming issues of family necessities, personal childcare and education and financial crisis, community support is just not enough to endures the rigors of these personal hardships. Lush-Ladiez has taken up the challenge for those who yearn of a place where women of their own peers offer years of wisdom, guidance, compassion or simply offer a friendly smile to warm a struggling heart.

Lush-Ladiez, an acronym, which stands for: (L)adiez (U)nifying (S)ophistication (T)hrough (H)egemony. A new and up coming social club for women serving Newark and Orange communities in New Jersey. In 2012, what started as an all female passion party bash for networking and socializing event, became an overwhelming popular response, Brittney Thurmond, President and Courtnee Wright, best friend and Vice President of the club, began enlisting women of different ethnic backgrounds, careers and religious beliefs to join an all female social club. The club soon became a place where young women could attend and receive guidance and compassion from it's members whose experiences of personal and social obstacles were met and were conquered. “Our organization strives towards excellence in all women and reflect a positive role model image for young women to emulate and be an asset to our community,” Brittney explains.

With such active members of the club like, Sargent of Arms, Alisha Hargrove, Public Relations officers, Miss. Sky, Miss. Hush (Roxanne Lamorius) Miss Amerika (Erica Smith), Miss Candi and Miss "C" and of course, secretary and mother of the president, Mama Lush, are continuing to work hard to make this club stand out among the rest of other female social organizations. Their hopes of becoming a non-profit establishment, Lush-Ladiez continue to reach out young women of becoming not only a member of the group but a family of sisters who share their wisdom and experiences with each other and become a positive influential force towards its local community.

That is my lesson for today and I am sticking to it. For more information regarding this article, please click on the links below:
