FEMA approves hazardous waste collection site

FEMA Officials recently approved a hazardous waste collection site for the city of Hattiesburg. The temporary site was opened to allow those residents affected by the recent tornado to dispose of any hazardous materials they may have on their property.

The site is located at Kamper Park near Cameron Baseball; adjacent to the pre-existing recycling drop off site. Items accepted include paint, pesticides, tires, motor oil, solvents, fertilizers, and gasoline. Household appliances and computers will also be accepted.

The hazardous waste collection site will be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily until it is no longer needed.
