Marcello's daughter, Chiara Mastroianni had commented on the poster, she had said that she was very proud and touched that Cannes chose to pay a tribute to her father. Her father, Marcello Mastroianni starred in several prominent movies during his lifetime like "La Dolce Vita," "La Notte," and the comedies, "Marriage Italian Style" and "Divorce Italian Style." He made his last movie in the 90s

Last year the 2013 festival had honored actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward on the official poster.
