The wife of Felix Hernandez has been the target of financial fraud. Bleacher Report reported on Oct. 19, 2013, "Felix Hernandez's Wife Alleged Victim of Wire Fraud by Teammate's Wife." It has been alleged that the wife of third year Seattle Mariners outfielder Carlos Peguero made $180,000 in unauthorized purchases on a debit card which belonged to the wife of Seattle starting pitcher Felix Hernandez.
Maria Jacqueline Peguero, who is 22 years old, has been officially charged with three counts of wire fraud for allegedly buying items from Saks Fifth Avenue with Sandra Hernandez's debit card online. She is said to have had them delivered to her apartment between June 26, 2012, and Oct. 9, 2012. These charges were filed on Oct. 1, by the U.S. Secret Service. Peguero has pleaded not guilty to the charges. At this time she is free on bond. If she is convicted she could face up to 20 years in jail.

The wife of Seattle Mariners outfielder Carlos Peguero has been accused of buying $180,000 worth of unauthorized items with a debit card which belonged to another person in the Mariners organization, federal court documents showed. The victims described in court documents are star pitcher Felix Hernandez and his wife. The U.S. Secret Service says Maria Jacqueline Peguero made 60 unauthorized purchases in 2012 from the upscale retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
