Felines bearing gifts

Has your kitty ever brought you a little gift? Not a gift on your wish list, but rather poor tiny, little mice, disgusting, ugly bugs, and stiff, lifeless birds; precious prey that your cat has managed to not only catch but also bring straight home to you. It's an ordinary practice with outdoor cats, but even indoor cats have brought bear gifts to their beloved owners.

Why do the indoor, well fed cats do this? Truth is you will never remove that natural hunting instinct out of a feline. There are many theories as to precisely why cats may bring you these treasures. They are merely trying to train you to hunt too, they are attempting to make an impression you, or perhaps show their affection. Whatever the accurate reason, just know that your cat’s behavior is entirely standard and accept it or not, it should be encouraged as a way to cultivate good mental health.

Some folks let their cats hunt outdoors because they want them to be lark-happy, but this can simply put your cat in danger’s way. In its place, bring the fun inside and let your cat go tiger-wild! Add to their surroundings to keep them in high spirits as indoor kitties. Additional toys which imitate the hunting experience are a wonderful way to help your cat work out this hunting intuition in a safe way..

Some toys are characteristically very good for this such as catnip mice and toys with feathers. But the very best toys are interactive ones or the ones that seem to play back.

Petsmart, Petco and many large chain stores with Pet Departments will carry various toys to choose from. Get more than one so kitty will not grow bored. Bear gifts to your cat.
