While Bluz By You may be across from Coleman and Brokaw’s recently redeveloped retail center, this location has its roots planted firmly in the previously ran Coleman Still buildings and their unique decor.
If the name hasn’t given it away, Bluz By You, is a New Orleans themed bar and restaurant, offering classic Louisiana food complete with local musicians playing nightly. However, “classic” style food is an understatement. Instead you’ll find portions that are above average of anywhere else, near double those of competing places in the San Jose and Santa Clara areas. And while you’ll find your fill of Gumbo, Catfish, Crawfish, Jambalaya, and Oysters the size of baseballs, you won’t empty your wallet.
A full bar sits in the back corner of the establishment where during the day and early evenings, before the crowds role in, you’ll find the bar tender or cook come out to join you for a chat, and maybe even a bite and drink, as time passes. This type of friendly and warm demeanor while in a restaurant is unusual to say the least here in the Bay Area, though something most patrons will enjoy.
Near the entrance to Bluz By You lies a small stage, and as the evening begins to set in you’ll find a different local band each night playing Blues, Jazz and other Soulful sounds to get your feet stepping and your heart pumping.
Open Mon through Saturday until 1:30am, this is the place you’ll want to come if you’re craving some great food, great drinks and a night out with the unexpected.
