Just in case you missed the Dana White press conference yesterday, it is now official Fedor is not signing with the UFC. Fedor is not fighting in the UFC because $30 million dollars is not enough money for him to have a “career” after he stops fighting. Yea, who can live on $30 million when they are used to living in a 1 room apartment in Russia? How can you expect someone who eats as much as Fedor to possibly be able to be able to feed himself on $30 stinking million dollars? The greedy Fedor knows White is not looking out for him, “"When I first read the UFC contract that was offered two years ago, I clearly understood they were trying to F…me," To add insult in injury Fedor Emelianenko wore a pullover emblazoned with the EA Sports logo, dismissing White's proclamation that no UFC fighter should sign a deal with EA Sports.. How I wish someone who was trying to F… me would offer me $30 million.
His manager, the genius Finkelchtein of M-1 cannot understand why Dana White won’t give him ½ of the UFC. White isn’t amused. "Let's be honest here, these guys are going to come in and co-promote?" he asked rhetorically."How the hell are they going to co-promote anything? We built this entire friggin' industry. How are they going to co-promote? It's basically them coming in saying they've got this guy, some people say he might be the best heavyweight in the world, so for that we want half your business. Yeah, OK."
Once again I think this is all just hype. Fedor will have to sign with the UFC if he actually intends to make the millions of dollars necessary to continue his lifestyle after he gets his butt kicked by anyone who can actually fight, simply because all the other big guys are gone. No one knows if Fedor is really that great. His record is impressive, but it is not against World Class UFC fighters. Let’s once again review my thoughts on the Fedor hype vs the truth.
I don’t believe all the hype about Fedor and never did. He looks like a fat Russian, who is a mean street fighter, and I feel he will be exposed as just that when he actually steps out of fighting in rings and into the Octagon. His weaknesses will be exposed just like all the other Russian fighters, and Pride Champions. Cro Cop, was a magnificent Pride Champion but hasn’t done squat in the UFC. Mad Dog Keith Herring, was a great Price Champion, and was paid a lot of money to come over and promptly lose all his big fights. Fedor will be the same.
Now before you experts with all your “real mma” knowledge and brilliant brains tell me again how stupid I am for saying that, please give me some actual examples of anyone coming directly from Pride or any of the other MMA fight organizations that actually came into the UFC and lived up to the hype. What people don’t understand is that the UFC is a business and the business is not just the fights, but promoting the fights. Hyping the fights, and getting people excited about seeing the next big fight. The UFC is in the fight business. It sells fights, it sells commercials, it sells pay per view. It promotes fights and hypes fighters.
Fedor is giving the heavyweight division the hype it needs to get pay for view sales. Who is exciting in the heavyweights now? Dana is so desperate for a new heavyweight the next season of the Ultimate Fighter will feature heavyweights and the led heavyweight he is pushing is the ALL HYPE Kimbo Slice. A guy who he made fun of and called a punk, nobody who would never step foot into a UFC ring. Now with no new exciting heavyweights out there to challenge Brock Lesnar, he is actually making a big push for Kimbo, and although no one has knows what is going to happen with the new season, Kimbo is the only fighter you see being pushed to deliver ratings for the nest season. The only one, he is being hyped to get people excited about watching the show and the fights. No different with Fedor being hyped. It will sell tickets.
Fedor is being hyped as the next great UFC champion and I don’t buy it. I don’t think he can beat Brock, I don’t think he can beat Culture. I don’t think he can beat any top 5 experienced heavyweight in the UFC. And despite how much you may protest or disagree you don’t KNOW he can either. I think he will need to learn to fight in the Octagon and learn the new techniques required to be a real UFC Champion not a Strikeforce or Pride Champion. The learning curve is too steep for him to step in the UFC and win his first fight if that fight is against someone with UFC extensive experience.
I think Fedor is better off being in the EA game that being in the UFC and being exposed. He will get beat; you can take my word on it. I haven’t been wrong yet and I am not wrong on Fedor being more hype than real, when it comes to fighting in the UFC.

Haha you make me laugh. Fedor in Pride fought so many current UFC top heavyweights in their prime e.g Coleman, Herring, Randleman (he recovered from being dropped on his head!), and of course, the trilogy against the then pound4pound king Minotauro. So to say he will be beaten by the top 5 heavyweights in UFC (Lesnar, who hasnt exactly fought top fighters apart from Mir who hes 1-1 with, Couture whos too old now, Mir would be a good fight, Nog who hes beaten with ease before and possible Cain Velasquez who can only grope people on the floor like lesnar) is quite a stupid thing to say. Granted he has fought has beens and nobodys as of late like Sylvia and Arlovski but cmon, to say he is just hype is crazy.
Also, on Fedor v Brock. Fedor is better in all departments technically. All brock has is his size. Yeh he can wrestle amazing but all he does his lay his 270lb body on the opponent and throw hammer fists. If the fight is kept standing, fedor would destroy him. If ground, quick sub.

I cant even belive that i am reading this article. First off - Fedor said himself that he would fight any fighter you give him. Second - Fedor have fight so many good fighters its not even funny to mention (Cro cop, Randleman, Minotauro, Coleman, Arlovski, Sylvia, Mark Hunt, etc, etc) are you serious to say that he havent fought any experience (top) fighter.. that is just too funny, please stop being a big supporter of UFC and see the real thing. Fedor is a top fighter. His record proves it. I have to think his hold out is over footage rights. The money the UFC is offering (as reported) was in the 1-1.5 mill per fight range. But you know UFC had to be mainting the film footage rights. With Affliction Fedor kept the rights. Also we don't know who is in the wings waiting to dump money on Fedor in order to have as shot at taking on the UFC. If its not one of these all that's left is pure greed or fear. Fear in the sense that if he loses in the UFC his value goes down greatly.

By the way Heath Herring was never a champion in Pride. You can't use just two fighters such as Herring and Cro Cop as Pride examples and forget the rest. Until Fedor loses he is the best.

The bottom line is Brock vs Fedor needs to happen. I dont think the top 5 heavyweights can beat Fedor but I do think Brock can. Somehow both sides need to just agree on making this 1 fight happen.
